Description

Sikaflex-552 is a one-component adhesive that cures in a natural environment under the influence of moisture drawn from the air. After polymerization, the adhesive becomes a durable elastomer that retains plasticity for an unlimited period, provided that it is exposed to temperatures from -40 to 90 0C. It can withstand short-term heating (up to 1 hour) up to 150 0C and up to 4 hours at - 140 0C. At - 60 0C, it loses elasticity and becomes glassy.

One-component sealant Sikaflex-552 based on MS polymers can be used without preliminary priming of surfaces. This reduces labor costs and speeds up the assembly process. In addition, the adhesive has the following positive qualities:

  • resistance to dynamic loads;
  • ability to compensate for vibration effects;
  • absence of a characteristic chemical odor;
  • excellent cohesion and adhesion to common materials;
  • resistance to climatic loads, UV radiation;
  • absence of polyvinyl chloride, solvents and volatile compounds, silicone;
  • ease of use.

The elastomer can be painted during the formation of the surface film. Compatibility with paint and varnish coatings is determined empirically. It should be taken into account that after painting, cracks may appear on the seams due to the fact that the elasticity of polyurethane is higher than that of paints.
